How to Make Your Acrylic Brush Last Longer
Share
Taking good care of your acrylic nail brush is key to making it last longer and keeping your nail sets flawless. Here are some essential tips to extend the life of your brush:
1. Always Clean After Use
Acrylic hardens quickly, so always clean your brush right after each use. Use monomer (not acetone!) to remove excess acrylic and prevent buildup.
2. Store Properly
Keep your brush bristles facing down or flat to avoid liquid running into the ferrule (the metal part), which can loosen the glue and cause shedding.
3. Avoid Acetone
Acetone dries out bristles and makes them brittle over time. Stick to monomer for cleaning.
4. Shape the Bristles
After cleaning, reshape your brush into its original form with your fingers. A deformed brush won’t apply acrylic smoothly.
5. Don’t Let Acrylic Dry on the Brush
If acrylic hardens on the bristles, soak it in monomer and gently wipe it off with a lint-free cloth. Avoid picking or pulling at dried acrylic, as this can damage the bristles.
6. Condition with Monomer
Even when not in use, occasionally dip your brush in monomer to keep the bristles soft and flexible.
By following these steps, your acrylic nail brush will last much longer, saving you money and keeping your nail work looking professional
